Product design based around the concept of creating a unique flavour. Drawing on the suggestion of looking at favourite foods from one’s childhood, and inspired by a conversation with a family friend about “crazy things” people did when they were kids.
Originally started with the idea of being a collection or series, but stalled at one due to time constraints.
Due to the bizarre nature of the sweet, the title was translated into Japanese and treated in a similar manner to their bright and colourful styles. The hiragana script was favoured in place of the more complicated kanji, to give it a more childish feel.
どろケーキ translates as “mud cake”
すいくさ translates as “sour grass”
